Judith Kott, Senior Associate Attorney
Judith A. Kott joined Mauck & Baker, LLC as a senior associate attorney after her primary focus in personal injury litigation where she represented individuals injured in motor vehicle collisions and slip and fall liability claims. As a personal injury litigator, Judith handled pretrial settlement conferences, arbitrations, jury trials, drafting briefs and pleadings, supervising attorneys with discovery and other matters, and settling cases. Judith also has experience in residential real estate closings, foreclosure defense, with some court appearances in federal court. After completion of a 40-hour mediation/arbitration class with the Illinois State Bar Association, Judith received a mediation certificate and she envisions her role as a peacekeeper when she participates in future mediation opportunities.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Judith received her master’s degree in political science from Illinois State University and then served as an adjunct instructor at several community colleges and taught local government classes, history classes, and a Constitution class. Her background also includes litigation paralegal work before attending law school at University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. During law school, Judith gained practical experience at the Fair Housing Legal Clinic.
Judith is passionate about serving opportunities for individuals who are in need. In 2022, Judith organized a Freedom Walk through an area-wide Christian singles meet-up group to raise awareness and funds for Destiny Rescue, an organization that rescues children and women from human trafficking. Judith is a volunteer organizer for this meet-up group S.A.L.T. (Singles Actively Loving and Serving God Together) and has assisted in organizing an annual picnic, providing consistent small group studies, serving opportunities and events.
In her leisure time, Judith enjoys spending time with family and friends in fellowship, hiking, enjoying the outdoors (especially the country), and playing games. She also enjoys photography, reading, journaling, and creative writing.
